Trust in “Good”?

“Good” is not Good Enough!

The atheists and humanists would have you believe that there is no God. A quote from the American Humanist Website states:

“Humanism is a worldview which says that reason and science are the best ways to understand the world around us, and that dignity and compassion should be the basis for how you act toward someone else. Humanism is nontheistic. By this, we don't mean to say that there is no God. Instead, we say that there is no proof for the existence of God, any gods, the supernatural or an afterlife. Therefore, we take very seriously the idea that ‘No deity will save us; we must save ourselves.’  We are living the only life we'll have, in the only world we know about. The responsibility for the choices we make are ours and ours alone.”

If you’re hoping on your being “good” to get into Heaven, you’ve put your hope in the wrong place. The problem with “goodness” is that you don’t know how much of it you need to get in. Has anyone seen the “Goodness Chart?” No, because there is no chart. Is it 50% of your life? Or is it 67%? And how much “goodness” is deducted when we do something bad? On that day when you enter into eternity, you’ll be wondering if you’ve been “good enough.”

And it also doesn’t matter if you went through any rituals or ceremonies. Or if you were baptized as a baby. You can be Catholic, Methodist, or whatever denomination you belong to. None of those things determine if you get into Heaven.

It actually doesn’t even matter what you have done. The only thing that matters is that you are “forgiven.” And that’s Good News.

Jesus said in John 14:6,
Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (NKJV)

Rom 10:9 says,
“… that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  (NKJV)

1 John 1:9-10 says,
9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

It’s pretty simple. Ask Jesus to forgive your sins and you will be saved from Hell. And it’s very clear that “good” people don’t go to Heaven. Forgiven people go to Heaven.

The thing about eternity is that it is forever. And everyone has eternal life. The question is: “Where will you spend it?” In Heaven or Hell?

So putting your hope in “Goodness” is not a good idea. Receive Jesus and be assured that you will spend eternity in Heaven.

One final thought: Just because a person doesn’t believe in God, doesn’t change the fact that He does exist.

I Didn't Know that God.......
